SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage helps eliminate toxins caused by sporting activity, reduce contractures and promote faster recovery after exercise.
During physical activity, the body needs a lot of oxygen and glucose to produce the energy needed during the effort.
During intense activity or when resuming after a long period of inactivity, the oxygen reaching the cells may not be sufficient to cover their needs. Muscle cells will therefore produce lactic acid to help metabolize glucose and continue to produce energy.
It is this lactic acid that is responsible for cramps and aches. If at the end of physical effort the body is unable to evacuate it because it is produced in too large a quantity or because blood circulation is not sufficient, the lactic acid will irritate the nerve fibers and cause pain or a burning sensation.
Heavy physical exertion can also cause micro-lesions of muscle tissue.
The benefits of a sports massage in Geneva
By acting on the entire body, sports recovery massage will therefore be beneficial for:
-
Restart blood circulation
-
Helps eliminate toxins and metabolic waste
-
Stimulate the repair of damaged muscle tissue
-
Relieving pain
Regular sports massage also helps to prevent the risk of potential injuries.
WHO IS A SPORTS MASSAGE FOR?
Contrary to popular belief, it is not only aimed at high-level athletes; anyone who regularly practices a sport can be subject to tension or injuries; gently preparing your muscles for an effort will always be beneficial whatever your level.
